the recentth Syria proves one thing:
first, you need a serious leadership that does what it cannot say not vice versa
secondly, you need strong allies willing to intrvene and break eggs

NATO is not among them. NATO is good to take on a finished country, but not serious opponents, some, I repeat SOME NATO-countries condemned the shoot-down and that was all.
we need some serious military/political leadership, this was proved to be existing under certain circumstances.
we need approach to RUSSIA and an equal partnership after the inevitable fall of syria. GD can and is capable of fulfilling theese tasks.

from the beginning I was talking for an "understanding" not necessary an alliance, but not on a SYRIZA-basis but on a nationalistic basis that is en equal partnership. Of course the incidents with SYRIA changes the status quo in the region. RUSSIA is bound to lose its ally ans the bear needs another stronghold. Under other circumstances I'd have been sceptical about Russia, and there are a number of reasons, but our options are few...
