Turkey to scout Turkic talent for 2016 Olympic Games

Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoan thinks Turkey should scout for talent in the Turkic countries, daily Hürriyet reported yesterday.

Erdoan made a phone call to Youth and Sports Minister Suat Klç, who is currently in London, to say that Turkey should do better in the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio.

Turkey was still yet to win a medal in the Olympics after the fifth day of the Games was wrapped up.
We should find and raise bright athletes in our country, but we should also look at neighboring Turkic countries, Erdoan reportedly said. Take those young athletes, give then citizenship and send to the Olympics. We should do that planning early.

In the 2008 Games, Chechen wrestler Ramazan ahin and Ethiopian-born Elvan Abeylegesse won medals for Turkey.

A nation of 70,000,000+ people and this leader of Turkey looks to other Turkish countries for sportsman.

This is due to education system of the Turkiye.

I have played Football in several football clubs through my education life up until second semester of the high school . But it was always because i had to make time through the education to sports .

The problem is in Turkiye you have to choose weather you want to continue doing sports and completely avoid classes or go to class and avoid sports ... which is shame because thousands of sportsman loose their chances this way ... because of a test that they have to prepare for which will decide if they are worthy of studying or not ... Stupid ...

While other countries promote sports for students and cherish their sports achievements ours put obstacle after obstacle in their path for them to fail.

If Reco wants Athlete's then he must first change the EDUCATION SYSTEM.

All you gold medals come from 1-2 sports so that makes you better in only two sports. We are are better in sports (not just two) as we have gold medals from more sports.
