teh time has come, looks like greek backdoor diplomacy is working
"The latest aim is to reduce Greece's debts by a further 70-100 billion euros, several senior euro zone officials familiar with the discussions told Reuters, cutting its debts to a more manageable 100 percent of annual economic output."
so this is how it works, they have obviously realised that if greece defaults then that is the end for europe and the cost will be trillions of dollars whereas they can save europe for 100 billion euros ... which is just fine hehehe
Turks get all years like the Pakistani brothers from uncle Sam many billions on military aid and grands in equipment, this money was not better to be in Africa? Or supporting people in Turkey and Pakistan with poverty? Have you ever heard about that kind of grands, no, because they keeping stuff like this silent, or not?
Turkey is not like China. Turkey is, just like Italy, Greece, Spain and Portugal.
Although that's not even comparable, Turkey and Greece received the same amount of American assistance. Even Greece received much more counting Marshall Plan. However Turkey had to protect the greatest Soviet border of NATO despite the 1/10 population disadvantage. That was even more profitable for US since Turkey has spent $350 billions for arming as well as $40 billion for commissions. Turkey could also have directed all it's economic sources to developement like Germany and Japan. Nonetheless Turkey reached the highest economic growth rate in Europe in the post-war era and now helping African countries as much as possible.
The 80 F-16 Block 50 that Turkey bought under the Peace Onyx II project (1996-1999) were bought by money donated by Arab countries after the Gulf War in 1991. 30 % of the Turkish F-16 fleet was bought by Arab courtesy. Without Arab donation, Greece would have 1,3:1 air superiority over Turkey.
So the Turks should stop whining about Greece receiving more foreign military aid than they do.
"The Turkish Cypriots looted, robbed and ravaged Greek Cypriot properties. They must start producing instead of being mere consumers. The Turkish Cypriots wanted to live without working!"
Major-General Bedrettin Demirel (1917-1988)
Commander of the Turkish Invasion Forces in 1974
