Turkish forces end anti-PKK operation

[linked image]

Reuters/Hakkari, Turkey
Turkish armed forces have ended an almost three-week operation against Kurdish militants in the southeast region of Semdinli, bordering Iran and Iraq, and have killed a large number of fighters, the local governor said in a statement yesterday.
Turkish jets have bombarded Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) positions around the mountainous region in one of most intense bouts of fighting in recent years in a decades-long conflict which has killed 40,000 people.
The aerial-supported operations launched by our security forces on July 23, 2012 ... were completed on August 11, 2012 morning, said the governors office of Hakkari, the province where Semdinli is located.
As a result of the operations, conducted with determination and rigour, the terrorist organisation PKK was unable to reach its cruel goals and a large number of its members have been rendered ineffective, it said in a statement, employing a euphemism used by officials to mean killed.
Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan said on August 7 that 115 PKK militants had been killed in Semdinli. The fighting began after the PKK set up checkpoints and tried to establish a stronghold there.
The militants have fought for autonomy for Turkeys mainly Kurdish southeast since 1984. Turkey, the US and the European Union list the PKK as a terrorist organisation.
Murat Karayilan, the acting PKK leader, said last week the group was changing tactics with its battle in Semdinli, according to Firat News, a website close to the militants.
Instead of their traditional hit-and-run ambushes on Turkish security forces, PKK fighters would remain positioned in Semdinli in an attempt to form a stronghold there, he said.
Suspected Kurdish militants ambushed a Turkish military bus in western Turkey on Thursday in an attack that killed one soldier and wounded at least 11 people. Turkish media reported a man was arrested yesterday in connection with the attack.
Increased PKK violence is a headache for Erdogan as he seeks to limit the impact at home of the conflict in Syria, where the PKK exerts growing authority in Kurdish areas and is receiving arms from Syrian forces, Ankara has said.

Oh shut up you coward b1tch! It's not going to be too long until Greece would have to deal with its own terrorists. Since most of you love terror and support it so much, I see a potential, especially with the economy being worse than most 3rd world countries. Then come here and celebrate bi-otch.

" I see a potential, especially with the economy being worse than most 3rd world countries"

Today's economy is global. If one has a problem then his problem is transmitted into his neighbor. Do you believe that the turkish economy exists inside a bottle and will not be effected ?

The problem with you is that in such a case you will have to face two problems simultaneously: Kurds + economic problems

Nothing is over, it took you 3 weeks to force the Kurds to withrdraw and according to latest information they were able despite the huge military forces that you have send in the area to withdraw a large number of their fighters completely unopposed and in order.

For me it is a vast humiliation for your army which clearly displays your weaknesses and your lack of efficient leadership at a tactical level

In my opinion Turkey is loosing ground it is now time for Greece to get as many qualitative used weapons as possible as used tanks, artillery and whatever else we can find, for example we could get used material as hammers that the Americans sell at 1/3 of its original price

Then we need to reply immediately to any provocation with the use of military force, we do not need to get into a military adventure with Turkey what im saying is lets be patient let the Turks to implicate themselves in more military operations as the one that they are planning in Syria

Which is a trap, easy to get in hard to get out in the long term as i have said in a previous thread.

Then when they are weak enough dispersing their forces, let them do the mistake to attack us, because we must lead them do so by displaying our courage and our determination.

When they do that, we will succesfully defend ourselves during the first stages of war and then we will launch simultaneous counter attacks hitting them hard , once and for all.

But you need politicians to do that not those traitors that rule us, you need people who love the country and they want to make plans for the continuity and expansion of our state according to our interests, but first and foremost they need to make plans about our survivability as a state, which is a major problem having neighbors like Turkey.

Turkey is our external enemy which need to be exterminated without any mercy, if we dont do that our future is at stake.

But the problem is that we have an internal enemy too that we have to deal with, commies and anarchists who systematically sabotage any effort for development and they bring destruction to our country by supporting illegal immigration and anti militarist policies.

the Turkish armed forces have shown in this latest escapade that they are a completely inneffective fighting force, lacking discipline, coordination, tactical understand and punch.... this is despite the fact that they are the second army in NATO, they were not capable of dealing with a handful of militia.... as Onty says above, the Kurds were able to achieve certain tactical goals and then perform a tactical and orderly retreat with minimal casualties, having inflicted big blows on the Turks

where I Differ in opinion with Onty in what he says that Greece should exploit the situation immediately. It is clear from what Paisios says that Greece must not get involved right now. Rather, the big cherry will come by waiting for Turkey to be drawn into a multi-front war, then once it is fully embroiled and worn down with enemies everywhere eating it alive... THEN... and ONLY THEN... when Turkey is "fighting for its life", Greece can then jump in an deliver the death blow.

----------------------------

i dont say exactly that, i said that we need to exploit the situation by getting as many used weapons as possible and strengthening our army, it is time for us to see our weaknesses and try to heal them

when we are ready and when Turks have dispersed their forces then we must lead them to attack us with our courageous stance, this will be a tragic mistake for them

thats what i said, it is wrong for us to have in mind offensive operations at the moment because of our internal problems, and the lack of preparation from the military point of view to launch offensive operations

and a personal advice dont read so much Paisios, lets be pragmatists.

Actually its more than 200. Known 50 of death couldnt be able to taken by Turkish Army due to impossible geographical situation.

---A reliable sorce---

The same source said;

"We got 15 of them before Semdinli operations which was another great success for the operation style which you need to follow 2 3 very proffecional terrorists in a very huge mountaineous area by the restrictions of "democratic law".

While even the number 15 is almost an impossible number for the PKK to replace them with new 15 specially trained terrorists in a short time unlike 1990s, last Semdinli intention for PKK leaders was a suicide. Their main goal was capturing Semdinli, taking photographs ahead of government buildings with so called PKK flag, celebrations with forced civilians for at least 1 day, expecting Turkish Army not to be careful while recapturing the town about civilian casualties, if Army keep its care, kill some civilians by theirselves and serve the pictures as if it was job of Turkish Army to their media and use DTP to make this as a black propaganda.. etc...

It was a great success to stop those 500+ speacially trained highly mobile terrorists in such geography before they capture somewhere by always need to be careful about civilian lifes."

It was a big success and Turkish army shows his ability!

Turkish army is well trainied and totally combat proofen!

All the vehicles that they use are also combat proofen!

And what about the mighty wonderworld greek army? Nothing, they are fighting against their fat body and they are loosing! Sitting on their aszes and eating too much even in times where the country has no money and is sinking in hughes debts!

Those turkish soldiers would defeat your fat greek undtrained and battle unproofen soldiers within some hours, Gayreeks!

LOL

Greeks can't even compare themselfes with the PKK terrorist. Im sure that those terrorists are better trained than the Gayreek army!

LOL
