| I was told by a nurse that drops in progesterone levels do not cause fetal demise if they have intact gestational sacs and no bleeding, that if the sac is intact and there is no bleeding, if you stop your progesterone shots (this is in week 8 in an IVF cycle) this will not cause mc.
Does anyone know if/why this is/is not true? Was a surprise to say the least to me to hear... |

...or some other reason a nurse would tell such a lie as that.
There is always the possibility that she has no idea what she is talking about. I've run into those kinds of nurses. They usually have huge egos along with their lack of knowledge.

but I did stop my at 9 weeks both times (I was 8 weeks when I begun gradually dropping the dosage) and I didn't have any prolems. I couldn't take the shots much longer due to knots and pain. I gradually decreased the dosage by one line every other day rather than just stopping completely and having the level drop a large amount suddenly.
