at grad party of dd's...I got an ice cream cake and sliced it up and served it. Well Tiana was sitting at the table in her booster seat(we had to get rid of high chair--little stinker was constantly trying to tip it over and laughing when we'd jump for her!....Well my MIL and FIL very nice people are HIGHLY religious...and we all have learned early on that you correct yourself and say "Oh Go--sh"...not Oh God.....well everyone that is except Tiana and my mother.
My mother was sitting diagnolly from FIL and T was sitting at the other end of the table and dd to my mothers left. I served the frozen cake...and T couldn't wait to get hers(all afternoon she had been asking"Cake...Cake")So I set that down in front of her and she grabbed her toddler spoon and proceeded to try to dig into a semi frozen cake...every spoonful attempt she loundly announced...."Oh God! Oh God!" Dd totally embarassed by her swearing toddler kept trying to correct her...."Oh Gosh Oh Gosh"
My mother who not even thinking turns to dd and says laughingly ....."She isn't saying Oh Gosh ...she is saying Oh God!" So this adds to dd's embarrasment and she turns to my mother as if to say "read my eyes" and says ..."She is saying Oh Gosh!".....LOL! My mother finally gets the hint and starts correcting herself...my SIL and I are old pros at it and had no problem conversing with them but I sure got a kick out of that baby...Although I am sure my FIL knew darn well what she was saying!
She picks up fast....my dd would occas say to the baby..when dd forgot something or did something silly "Dumb Momma, Dumb Momma".....out of the blue T now will say it...repeatedly and it hurts dd's feelings..and T only laughs, she knows darn well what she is doing.....lol....Lesson to all you with ones littler than T. They pick it up and fast! LOL! |
