Hey, MR!! Yeah, I stopped posting on the other board because I was bummed JB left and DAD was being a butthole.

Matt H, do you have a popup killer or a firewall installed on your computer? I haven't gotten ONE popup. I run Norton Firewall and it has killed 100% of any popups I may run across on the net.

Trying to help Dave and gather info on what you guys think of this site. What do you like? Dislike? Anything that needs improving? Do you like the threading? Do you like the way the other board looks or is there anything y'all want to incorporate from that board on this one?

Oh yeah, there's a poll up (thread "Dueling Boards") that you can vote on what y'all want to do with regard to posting on a specific board.

I gotta say, while I am glad that some particularly nasty trolls will not be able to pester anyone, I am concerned about how this moderator ability will be used. You seem to be a keen fellow, Dave, so I hope that you will use your ability responsibly, but I have known too many "moderators" that use their position to silence anyone with differing views or thoughts or just to play "God," so to speak.

Truth be told, "Comicon" is the only moderated board I enjoy, so far (too early to tell about this one). Rick Veitch and steve Connelly are great moderators that allow free discussion and don't try to control posters in any way. I liked the Magnus board, frankly. Much for the same reasons that JB did/does. I feel that banning or post removal should only be used in extreme cases, like when that freak troll posted porno pics and had those endless title/posts that said "ape" over and over again.

Dave, will you be providing us with a set of rules to let us know what you think is unacceptable in this forum? Thanks.

Glad to be here ... who knows, I may start posting semi-regularly again now that I can dodge the trolls!

Dave welcomes us to the new board and we discover its...the old board again! It's like the last episode of The Prisoner!

Being a part of those first few weeks on this board was one of my favorite online experiences. Maybe it was just the freedom from the infestation on the old boards. But everybody went hog wild. Posts were fast and fun. The chatroom was busy every night. IIRC things stayed pretty busy through a good part of the summer, but that first month was a lot of fun. Thanks, Dave.
