One of these things. . .

. . . is not like the other. . .

Actually, I can't really figure out how pretty much MOST of these things relate to each other. Confessing my Cultural Illiteracy, I guess. Anyone else have any thoughts on why these images would be on the same page?

The only thing they would have in common is that the person that put them there likes them. Smells like a fanboy.

The person making the site, and the fact they're all the same size, and can be used for the sony phone screen

Why do we torment ourselves with images of things we want but can never realistically attain?

Having said that, I must say Maxim girls rulz, dude!

He's got Monica Bellucci amogst his mass of beautiful vixens, so he's got point from me. Though, he's only got her in Matrix form, so maybe I'll take that point away ...

The appeal of MAXIM has always eluded me. A friend commented once upon a time that he read and enjoyed it, and asked me what I thought. "WIZARD trying to be PLAYBOY," I said.

I don't read Maxim, but I have been know to look at the pictures occasionally.

One such time, I flipped through one with Alyson Hannigan on the cover, and learned the following important info from her interview:

Maxim :"Landing strip, dorito chip, or Brazillian?"

Alyson: "Brazillian."

JB's take is spot on, I'd say.

(edited to add a question mark)

But to quote Beavis, "They got some fine lookin' women on there, Butt-head."

They won't see us waving from such great heights. "Come down now," they'll say.

In defense of Maxim and the like...

I am sure I would enjoy looking at Catherine Bell in Playboy if she did a layout, but I think some of her shots in this Stuff magazine layout would be hard to top. Not that I don't like photos of beautiful nekkid ladies, but I also enjoy "sexy" photos that leave a little to the imagination.

Stuff magazine articles are very stupid, but they really make me laugh my ass off. I look forward to the text more than the photos.

Playful fluff...

I've always enjoyed looking at and even reading Maxim and Stuff magazines. They aren't to be taken too seriously, it's like The Onion (theonion.com). Publications run by a bunch of people having way too much fun.

As for those pictures? At first glance... and then several later once I got by Jennifer Garner, my guess is that the guy running the site is assembling a wish list for people he wants to abduct and put into his secret chamber under his garage.

I think its more like "It rubs the lotion on its skin, or it gets the hose again."

I make way too many Buffallo Bill jokes while watching Monk :P
