Last year I rented The X-Men cartoon "Legend of the Wolverine" on DVD. It had an interview with Chris Claremont as an extra feature. It also had a Claremont audio commentary feature. It was weird to finally hear his voice. Now when I read all the narration and caption text in a Claremont X-Men comic I "hear" his voice in my mind.

It got me wondering....Is there any interview with you out on DVD, VHS, etc?

Not that it lessens the stories or anything not knowing what you sound like. But its crazy that I've seen video footage/commercials with Todd McFarlane and Rob Liefeld in them and I've never even seen film or heard audio of John Byrne!

I have a full interview with JB I did a few years ago. I am trying to get it dubbed but I don't have a tape deck of the original format. I am still working on it.

As mentioned before, one of the most enjoyable interviews I have ever done.

There's also "Sex, Lies, and Superheroes", in which JB is interviewed, and does a She-Hulk sketch on camera! But as far as I know, it still hasn't come out yet. Does anyone else have more info about it? I really want to buy it!

Thanks for the answers, everyone. What Spiderman DVD are you talking about? Is it the live action movie DVD or one of the cartoons?

Live action, Tobey MacGuire version. It's part of the DVD extras that have Stan Lee, etc. being interviewed.

Thanks, Dave. I need to go check that out. Are there two versions of this one out like X-Men? Is it on the one released on DVD a year ago or is there a Spiderman 1.5 version out?
I've been watching so much TV on DVD I haven't been to a videostore to rent things in a long while.

Currently, there is only one DVD version of SPIDER-MAN. There will be, however, a 1.5 version released before SPIDER-MAN 2 this summer. Seems very odd to me, as the first release was already touted as a two disk "Special Edition."

Okay, I finally saw the Spider-Man DVD feature. Not only did I see John Byrne but Jeph Loeb too. I was totally wrong in my preconcieved notion of how JB's voice would sound. Some of the other guys in the feature were wearing T-shirts and talking like they were guys who worked in the comic book store, whereas John Byrne looked and talked like a college professor. Way to represent!
Maybe in a Spider-Man 1.5 release JB can say what he he thinks about the actual Spider-Man movie. They can call the segment "American Mythology---Mechanical Webshooters to Web Glands: Change for Change's Sake!"
Thanks for pointing me in the right direction to find this interview, Byrne Victims.

As it happens, I just saw the feature for the first time yesterday too (celebrating the arrival of my big screen TV yesterday by going through some of the DVDs!). JB didn't sound like I thought he would based on what people around here had written about his voice, but I knew instantly it was him before they showed his voice. Strange to put a voice to someone who's work I've been enjoying for 20 years(!).
