Could that X-Men drawing be more potent? Neal Adams? The full X-Men cast from the period where JB left off? If there was ever going to be a resurrection of the Phoenix -- that is how it should happen!

It is sad to me that such a great comic talent like this man/myth/legend is not making comics more often. If I had the money, I'd buy Batman and the X-Men and give them to him just so he could do them again whenever the mood struck.

Lol. Hadn't ever thought about that. The funeral issue for Jean is so good I must have read it more than any other issue. It became a kind of collector's want-list for me since I had so few back issues at the time (as a side note, many of the X-Men's past adventures seemed a lot cooler in the Byrne/Austin recap than they did when I finally saw the originals).

So, no, this is not the way to bring back Phoenix. But that "New X-Men" look on Cyclops, seeing Kitty in her original costume, imagining how Adams would continue to portray Colossus and Wolverine -- all whet my appetite for the rest of this story.

Put that image on the moon? I guess the story would need a plot by JB since he's the only one who seems to get the continuity of Phoenix right. Then, of course, he's likely to be the last person on earth who would want to bring her back.

This is the only Wolverine costume that makes sense to me. Hate the 'tigger' look in all its many variants.
