Our lists are extremely similar, David. With one difference, though. Chuck Austen gets no stay of execution from me. He is the single worst writer working for the Big Two today. I've bough every single Superman comic published since JB's Man of Steel #1. Until Austen took over one of the books. There is no way I'd even consider contributing to his financial success. He can't leave fast enough, IMO.

And ditto on the Thor storyline? What's with that? Jurgens has dragged this on far too long, and it's similar to what Peter David's doing over on Captain Marvel. Enough already, guys!

I can't argue with your take on Austen, DAC. Once every dozen issues or so he hits on something, but most of the time he just doesn't understand the characters he's writing (see current Avengers issues). Avengers has a very special place in my collection. Buscema & Palmer's 2nd run (260s-290s) hooked me on the hobby (when I was 8 or 9), I've picked up every issue as it's come out since then, and I have a complete run from Vol.1#1 through today. I collected through some gawdawful dreck between #350 and when Deodato came on and I'll make it through the gawdawful writing now. It's like Methodist ministers; if you don't like one, just wait, they'll move on soon.

I'm very wary of his X-men. I dropped Morrison's version of this book right before he started his end run and the main reason I'm picking it up now is Larocca's art. I'll wait and see.

Austen's Superman book? I'm severely Art Adams deprived and I haven't ever regularly picked up any Superman books (picked up JB's run through back issues). I figure I'll give the relaunch a try. The bad thing about preorder is I have 3-4 issues in the pipeline before I get to judge the first issue or two. The good news? 35% discount pays for those books and then some.

Gotham Central #19
Green Arrow #38
Hawkman #28
JLA #98
JLA #99
Legion #33
Monolith #4
Teen Titans #11

Marvel:
Astonishing X-Men #1

District X #1
Excalibur #1
Excalibur #2
Exiles #46
Exiles #47
Mystique #14
Mystique #15
New X-Men: Academy X #1
Official Handbook of the Marvel Universe: X-Men 2004
Uncanny X-Men #444
Weapon X #23
Weapon X #24
X-Men #157

Crossgen:
Kiss Kiss Bang Bang #5

Edited to add the following:

I dropped all the Ultimate Books for the X-Men Reload jump-on issues. And I was already getting Mystique.

Gonna check out Monolith and Hawkman. I'm sure I can still get Monolith #1 at my distant/local shop.

I dropped thor around #56. Started with #44 and thought it was awesome. But I didn't see the story ending anytime soon. Looks like it still hasn't.

And Legion will be the last issue I get unless Gail Simone really impresses me. I'm at the point where I'm looking for a title to drop. And although I've been getting this book since #1, I don't see anything keeping me.
Heck, I dropped Catwoman after 24 issues because of the art change.
