Why do I get the idea that John would do Jonny Quest good?
Maybe it's just the pure adventurous elements.

John- did you ever consider it?

I am of the "Jonny Quest Generation" -- too old for Scoobey-Doo!

I think a JQ book would be fun -- and there used to be one. I know Wendy Pini did at least one story.

But lisenced projects are usually hell to work on.

Sideways, I did a cover for TOMMI TREK, a Quest like book put out by an Indy publisher a while back.

Sweeet!
BTW... What did you think of the recent cartoon series with the cgi intro? Or did you not see it?

I checked it out, but I felt like it was lacking something.

I would LOVE to see JB do either Jonny Quest or a JQ-style book. I always liked the tech and the Commie-esque villans and so forth. This would be another book that could take place in a "cool" world and a non-specific era.

Original Johnny Quest - Good!
New adventures of JQ - BAD!!!

Toby Danger - the JQ parody on Freakazoid - Excellent!
"Take that you heathen monkeys!"
"Wait, let me throw a barrel at it!"

It seems possible!!

Comico (Bob Schreck's old stomping grounds) ran a terrific Jonny Quest book for several years. Wildey did a little something. Otherwise it was a rotating team. Back issues run about cover price.

A couple doors down from Bob, Joan Hilty edits CARTOON NETWORK comics. Lately they seem aimed to feature CN's own stable of properties, not old Hanna-Barbera properties. On the other hand, Joe Staton does a frequently brilliant SCOOBY-DOO for Joan; he might be able to tell you whether CN is terribly intrusive or protective. Are you in touch with old Charlton cronies such as Joe?

Seriously!

They give SPACE GHOST to Joe Kelly? You think they'd hesitate if you asked for JONNY QUEST?

On the other hand, Joan Hilty is fierce...

Dr. Quest: Race! I know both your arms are broken, but can you take the bullwhip in your teeth and knock this deadly scorpion off my shoulder? If it stings me, I will be transformed into a mindless zombie that will haunt John Byrne until he decides to work on licensed properties!

Race: Sure thing, Dr. Quest, just let me mmmmmmmp mmff mmmmph . . .

Sound Effect CRACK! [sound of whip snapping off-panel]

Dr. Quest: Great work, Race!
