Received my comp copies today. Some of the coloring I find a bit dodgy (too many lines converted to color) but I like the inks a lot.

You folk should see it next Wednesday, right?

It may have been delayed. DC has it listed as coming out on the 24th. Not sure if was originally itended for the 17th or not.

I've placed an order for my copy. My store owner wasn't even aware that JB was working on this particular issue, which shows he hasn't been paying attention to his copy of Previews!

I've never understood that. How could anyone run a successful business if they just order blindly?

I've seen 2 local comic shops go out of business and that's pretty much the way they did it. A couple of other local shops go through Previews with a fine-toothed comb and they've been around, and healthy for more than a decade.

And to add, Scott, it's a great way for me to benefit from a Good Shop's policies. I don't read Previews at all, but the shop I go to does a great job of being on the ball for everything, comparing it to customer buying patterns, as well as offering occasional flyers with info on upcoming titles that might be of interest (without any spoilers!).

Hmmm. Maybe I get my copies 2 weeks in advance? I thought it was only 1.

If you do get them 2 weeks in advance they should probably have sent you JLA 95 as well (since it's every 2 weeks for this arc). Either that or maybe they ship them as they come from the printer in batches and Hawkman was just ready early?

The dated given for HAWKMAN #26 in both PREVIEWS and DCCOMICS.COM is March 24.

And, JLA #95 has always been March 31, which is odd since JLA is being touted as shipping every two weeks! Oh well.

Every two weeks, or twice a month? Technically, there can be a difference. Especially in one of the longer months, like March.

The text box in DCU page in JLA #94 says two weeks...and the poster I'm looking at in my cubible, which is the DC PROMO for THE TENTH CIRCLE, says biweekly (shouldn't that mean twice a week?)...so, now I dunno.

Color me confused.

It says on DC's website that it's supposed to be "bi-weekly". Here's the link:

I called Carlin

March 12 2004, 1:56 PM

He says 95 is shipping at 3 weeks instead of 2 because March is a 5 week month this year. The rest of the run should come out every 2 weeks as promised.

(Mike says he was not informed himself of this little shunt, and panicked when the make-ready for 95 did not come in this week's bundle.)

Probably should say "Semi-monthly" to denote twice a month rather than Bi-Weekly.

I think semi-monthly should refer to other titles. Or perhaps, "Whenever these guys feel like finishing it" would be better

Is Hawkman 26 a self contained story, or should I be hot footing it down to my comic shop to get 25 or tell them to pre-order 27?

BTW

March 12 2004, 2:13 PM

the inks are done by Larry Stucker, who I believe has been on this board once or twice before.

I hope he still logs on and reads that you liked the way his work panned out.

I think somebody else inked the cover, but I thought the inks were pretty nifty there as well.

Brian, one-shot. JB pencilled the fill-in issue between Geoff Johns/Morales/Bair and the new creative team.

Heard that one before....

"Sorry, David, but every time I see one of your posts, I think ROSS is here!"

No offense to JB or anyone else here (including my wife - checking behind me to make sure she doesn't see this), but if I WAS Ross, I sure as hell wouldn't be here, I 'd be a wee bit tied up with RACHEL!

Or is that, rachel being tied up.......

David

PS - Back on topic, looking forward to this book big TIME!
