I picked up this issue the other day for the JB cover - it is dated January 1982.



If someone wants to put it in the gallery, feel free.

I had a question for you John - did you ever read the parody of the Dark Phoenix saga printed in the last issue of Crazy? What did you think?

It has been years since I read it, but I do recall having access to the Dark Phoenix saga in the parody form long before I ever read the actual X-Men issues...

Is that the one Jim Owsley did, using the original artwork but substituting new dialog? I thought that was hilarious.

That's the one - I'm trying to get a copy online. For some reason the only panel that sticks out from my reading of it is Jean's mother saying, "Jean... your womanthings are showing."

That probably speaks volumes. Or at least gives a good gauge that I was in my almost in my early teens.

I always found CRAZY more ... sinister than CRACKED or MAD.
