A very confused Gary Cody forwarded this one to me, asking what it was "all about". Sadly, I suspect most people who post to this Forum could answer that question for him!

Wow. Wonder if it's true ...

that "Sometimes one forgets his or her manors"?

Because if so, I'm hoping I'm one of those people.
I'd love to have a manor that I've somehow forgotten about.

I always try to mind my own manors. The servants get upset if I don't.

Manors

Cute, but the guy's obviously not a native English speaker.

I'm a big fan of the "Henry Rollins" rule when bagging non-native English speakers: If they're doing better in English than I could in their language, then as long as I can understand them, I let it go.

And the guy's trying to apologise for... what, I don't know, but he sounds sincere, and we should have some class, class.

Huh

I didn't get that impression at all. He just sounds like your average illiterate internet type.

Also I think more importantly he is apologizing for relating an incident that apparently neither Cody nor JB have any knowledge of, despite the both of them supposedly being there.

Melissa: "Cute, but the guy's obviously not a native English speaker..."

How did you arrive at this conclusion? I read his post again, and it isn't written in broken English. You might chastise me for picking on his possible typo, but I hardly think that what he wrote indicates that English is not his native tongue.

Are you basing this on his last name, alone?

At any rate, is there a particular reason you chose to play the scolding school marm in this instance?

I dunno...

I thought that 'manors' (which he uses consistently)
plus "I have not logical excuse for these actions"
(Ok, it's possible that he accidentally typed the 't' and it should have read 'no', which would have made sense) plus his name indicated that to me.

Anyway, I don't really want to argue over whether the guy's illiterate or foreign, and if the post's years old, it's neither here nor there.

But let's bag what he said, if we know what it was!

Didn't mean to be so much the disapproving school marm.... eh, I got woken by yappy dogs this morning on a public holiday. That's my excuse. Sorry if I was too harsh!
