While I was digging around in some old boxes at my house, I came across some newspaper clippings. One of these clippings had to do with JB and "Man of Steel," the Superman relaunch from the 1980s.' The articles come from a 1986 edition of USA Today. Unfortunately, I forgot to clip the actual date. Whoops.
Do you still have that sweater in the pic above? Also, was it made for you, or did you buy it somewhere?

Still have it. My mother made it. She has been knitting all my life. I made the pattern for her.
Unfortunately, it has picked up a darkist stain, about the size of a quarter, on the lower half of the S shield, and I am unable to fly thru the sun to clean it.

Simply separate it from your body and get it away from your super aura, then the stain should come out easily. You KNOW you can't do a thing to it when it's snug against your super-chest! -R
Seeing this article brought back memories of how I would cut out any comic book-related article in the newspaper. Even then I was sensitive to comics being recognized by "legitimate" media (like how we go nuts now when someone like Kevin Smith mentions they read comics) What's most startling about this article is that it didn't being 'Ziff! Bam! Pow!'
Dammit, Byrne! It wasn't bad enough you were always lacing your FF run with little bits of science that made me have to break out my Encyclopedias (the internet did not always exist, people) to see if "that's really true," now I have to find a conversion table to figure out if I should be impressed or not.
That pic is similiar to one the "Star" published about your doing the Man of Steel. Though that one was B/W.
I sympathize CJ...when reading the F.F. John had Reed explaining to Jen and Sue why he was "Exploding" or was it "Imploding" tennis balls. Reed goes on to explain something about the ball's outer skin having attained the relative velocity of the Sun while the inner ball was moving at a slower rate....I think, haven't read that one in a while so I may be off a bit. It was great hearing such things in comics. Made me think and have fun
