Thanks to all! None of this would be possible without the amazing work by our fearless leader.
As to the tongue, I just went with the same color as the hair, which is the only thing non-chromey on his body. I am sure we have seen his tongue before in the actual comics, but I don't recall the color. Tell me the proper color and I will be glad to change it.
Earthtones on clearly mechanical rubble is just one of my trademark errors. What is clear to some is often a mystery to me. Maybe it is old mechanical rubble from a prior battle that has rusted? I will rework this tonight!
Nice. Not too overblown like many of today's color artists. I think Nightcrawler's 'Bampf' might be better served with a bit darker purple on the outer edges..IMO.
Nice work JB. When is this tribute book coming out or do I have to order it online?
Have I ever told anyone how Colossus was my favorite character???
But I think I liked the brown "rubble" better than the gray! It's not more realistic, but it looks and reads better to me. "Knockouts" are a perfectly acceptable tool for making the story read more easily (how many times in the old days would you see all the background in pink, or a row of innocent bystanders knocked out in, say, blue?) So I guess I differ from JB on this minor point.
But either way, it's a beauty! Make a poster out of it!
PS: Of course, if the technological rubble were an important element of the story, one might really go to work and use color to bring out the details in the pile.
