For the last few years I've been giving my comics away in bulk, one box at a time to my wife’s students. She teaches 11th grade History and when the holidays come around or midterms or finals she lets them grab out of the boxes and they usually give them to their little brothers and sisters. Last night I reached the bottom of the barrel (with the comics I was willing to part with) and gave away my New Warriors, Black Lightning, Ghost Rider runs and other comics along the same nostalgic value. My wife brought the box in today and the kids just laughed. For the rest of the day all she heard was “Who the hell are the New Warriors, your man needs to bring us some X-MEN.” She tells me the box is still pretty much full and she’s considering bringing them home tomorrow. Can someone out there please give me a moral to this story?
I agree with Stephen. Do what JB and others have suggested and donate them to a hospital children's ward. Thanks for having your heart in the right place.
The head of the Youth Services department at my library told me that she's always looking for comics and graphic novels. I took advantage of Rick Lundeen's $1.00 sale and picked up a spare copy of his GN We Three Kings to give to her.
