Hi JB:

For the past couple of years on my birthday (today), I've asked you what you were drawing so I could buy it and frame it and then have a whole part of my JB art collection that was drawn on my birthday...last year was the first time it successfully worked out that you were drawing something that I could buy (for previous years you'd been John Byrne writer on my B-day)...so, I'm asking you again, what are you drawing today?

Thanks for being such a great creator and for being so accessible to your fans! My John Byrne wall currently is proudly displaying the FUNKY daily strip that ran on my birthday last year and the G3 pages you drew last year on my birthday (Issue 8 pages 14-15).

Thanks again, JB.

Sorry, Matthew, but having finished DOOM PATROL 6 on Tuesday, I decided to take the rest of the week off, so nothing is on the drawingboard today.

Huh!

I can't believe that you're taking time off when you're only six or seven months ahead!

C'mon, JB. You'll never make it in this business with a work ethic like that!

Yeah, the ghost of Jack Kirby visited my dreams last night and told me what a slacker I am!

Grant Morrison and Mark Millar ruined any thoughts I could ever have of King Jack's ghost. They are very troubled individuals.

I won't delve into the stories, but anyone that knows them knows what I mean.

JB,

You ought to do a Napkin sketch of a Dove, and send it along to him.

Then, you could follow up and do one for each of us on our birthdays

That would currently be 2/day.

JB, how do you schedule your time to complete the
long list of commissions you have? Is your "down time"
when you consider catching up on commission work or
do you have it laid out a different way?

*******

There are 2 kinds of "down time" -- those that are truly "nothing" days, like today, and those are are "gaps" between work that I can fill with other work. The commissions fall into the latter category.
