In JLA/AVENGERS # 4, there is a three-panel sequence in which Wonder Woman is preparing to "hold the line" so her teammates can continue their assault on Krona's fortress. She turns around to discover her opponent is Surtur the Fire-Giant of Norse mythology, but then discovers that two other heroines have joined her; the She-Hulk and WW's mother, Hippolyta! We don't get to see the actual battle (because there's a LOT of other stuff going on, ya know!), but just the thought of it is awe-inspiring.
Now I have to admit, as I have before on these boards, that George Perez edges out JB as my "favorite artist," ( dodges bricks and tomatoes thrown in my direction ) but I'd love to see his version of those three fighting side-by-side, even more than George's!
Simonson, Perez, and Byrne are my favorite pencillers.
Of course, looking back, John Romita Jr. and Karl Kesel before the new millenium hit and their art went downhill (IMO), or Romita Sr., or the now-departed Jack Kirby and Kurt Swan and are easily up there too.
If we're just talking about artists my number one favourite is a tie between Neal Adams and Jose Luis Garcia Lopez. Second place is taken by Joe Kubert. Third place is held currently by JB while fourth is a tie between a whole bunch of people. (Walt Simonson, Frank Miller, George Perez, Art Adams, John Romita Jr., Alan Davis, and probably a bunch more I can't think of right now)
