Its safe to assume that Hellboy is going to be a success and they are already making a Sin City movie. Could Hellboy's success considering the fact that it is not from one of the "Big 2" mean Hollywood interest in other indie titles, especially JB's properties?

Don't want to be the naysayer of the group, but this could be either a blessing or a curse. A blessing if Hollywood can see that a movie based on a comic can be true to the source and still make money. A curse if Hollywood sees this as even more reason to go after comic based material and mucks up some more great stories by changing things for the sake of change.
"Hellboy" is nothing close to a "success" yet. As Brendan D noted in the other thread (and did we really need another thread for this?) the movie could make $25mil on the first weekend and drop off fast. I hope it will be a success, and I hope it will maybe give Hollywood reason to think fairly faithful adaptations are an avenue worth exploring -- but there is no guarantee yet of either.
Yes, people in Hollywood know Mike Mignola was very involved in the development of Hellboy as they know Frank Miller is co-directing Sin City. The response of the readers of Hellboy and Sin City has been very positive, and they hear that too. Now, if these films can manage to make some money...
