I just noticed, unlike Marvel, ever since Perez, DC seems to think Ares is an uber-powerhouse, which some people I've met on message boards think contradicts the official Olympian mythology, which had Ares as a "beatable, scheming, cowadly, near-mama's boy" I guess like the Greek version of Desaad (not sure myself since I'n no mythology expert).

In regards to your tratement of this (in JKFW and Genesis), is it a touch of your own takes from the mythology, or an homage to Perez?

Also, out of curiosity, since unlike Marvel's Ares, DC's doesn't seem to beat himself every time by tripping over a banana peel, where do you rate Ares as compared to:

Darkseid

Zeus

Odin

Highfather

... Could he compare with any of them?

All of them ...?

BTW, as a final question, were the "Pantheons" that Darkseid destroyed back in JKFW "junior" type Pantheons that someone like Superman may be able to take, or were they like members of Kirby's Fourth World, or Earthly Pantheons themselves?

Thanks (particularly for reintroducing mythology into he DCU with your runs on WW and JKFW).

These questions fall under the heading of "If it's not in the books, it's not part of the story".
