Hank, that's exactly how I bought FRIENDS as well. I really LOVE Costco. Best prices for DVDs out there and getting to be a better selection as the months go by. It's the only place I buy DVD sets, as they are so much more inexpensive than Best Buy or Circuit City. I'm hoping they have FREAKS AND GEEKS there tomorrow as well, although if you're a huge fan of the series (I've never seen it, but it's been recommended by so many people I'm going to pick up the set) go to www.freaksandgeeks.com where you can get an 8 disk set (the retail set is 6 discs) only available on line that has an unfilmed script, an hour-long Q&A and three cast table reads.
I shop at BJ's, which is associated with CostCo but closer. I'm frequently surprised at the odd stuff that turns up there. I mean, who would have thought I'd find the Avengers boxed sets there?

Exactly! Along with the popular FRIENDS, 24 and CHEERS box sets, I've bought the entire run of THE PRISONER on DVD there and have had my eye on the complete MONTY PYTHON I see every few months. In the case of both sets, they're priced at $90 a piece. Not too shabby considering the MONTY PYTHON set retails for $150 and THE PRISONER at around $130 on Amazon. I've seen the AVENGERS, MR. BEAN, TWILIGHT ZONE and THE OUTER LIMITS sets there as well. Nice assortment, although your best chances are getting there the week they're released as I've noticed once they're sold out they are rarely back in stock. I got the ALIEN QUADRILOGY when there were only four sets left back in January and I haven't seen it there since. Once again, got it for $62 when it $82 at Amazon and $100 at Best Buy.
I was ASTOUNDED that Costco had Roswell season 1. I think they only had it for a week, but anybody who wants that set was gonna buy it that week, anyway.
Although if you haven't tried Roswell yet, I heartily recommend it. Maybe your local Costco will still have it. It's good. And I still say Jason Behr should be the next Superman.
Now I see why I never use Costco ... I'm too lazy to jump off the couch and get to a retail store on the week of release.
$90 for MONTY PYTHON is just about as cheap as I have ever seen it. I think I got it online for $95 shipped after watching the prices for a good two years! (Yes, I'm cheap.)
Yes, tomorrow is F&G (Freaks and Geeks) day!!!!! I'm very excited as this show really was a gem (too bad NBC didn't know what they had and kept jerking it with the schedule). A talented cast of real looking teens in real situations with awesome music. I'm so glad they secured the musical rights for all those rock tunes that were in the show.
