My legendary tears of nostalgia are being jerked from their ducts (very painful, for a tear) by this display of classic merchandise. God, I had all this stuff: the buttons (which I admit I sold for a tidy profit at a New York Comic Con), the bumpersticker, the MMMS certificate ("E Pluribus Marvel!"), FOOM, and the whole lot.
I don't see any cups. I still have cups from 77-79(?) from my local K-Mart. You got one when you bought an ICEE. I have Black Panther (then my favorite character) The Falcon, Namor, Doctor Doom & Daredevil.
That site has got some cool stuff but some explanation would be nice. For example...who the heck is Starhawk and what comic did he appear in?

I hope to add more detail as I get time and, um, more details.
I'm hoping as people visit the site they'll contribute some additional info on the items pictured, plus more pics.
A Slurpee cup page is definitely something I'll need to add.
There's an ad for this Sterenko character in the final Marvel Super-Heroes to feature Golden Age reprints (#20, IIRC- Dr. Doom was the lead feature in a story that, if memory serves, was by Roy Thomas with Larry Lieber art). At the time, Marvel Super-Heroes was a 25 cent book that featured a new lead strip (including the debuts of The Phantom Eagle, Captain Mar-Vell, and the Guardians of the Galaxy as well as previously introduced characters making solo bows, like Doom, Medusa, and The Avengers version of The Black Knight) and a ton of Golden and Atomic Age reprints (Atomic Age referring to the bizarro Cap/Sub-Mariner/Torch revival of the early '50s). It appears as if Starhawk was going to be the next "try-out" character in MSH #21 (?), but for whatever reason, the book went to an all-Silver Age reprint format.
I sincerely doubt the character was intended to be a part of the Guardians of the Galaxy (although it's possible the Guardians character was influenced by Sterenko's Starhawk), but you never know. He was apparently supposed to be from the future- the ad mentioned something about him "blasting his way across two centuries" to appear in the next issue of MSH.
John F,
while you're on the look out for stuff like that keep your eyes peeled for the Marvel Comics/Human Torch ashtray! (circa 1966?) I've only seen one and it was on Ebay. I was mercilessly outbid. Alas, I didn't keep the scan otherwise I'd be happy to share. Pity. I haven't seen one since. If I recall correctly it was an in-house promotional item. Nice little Kirby --I think-- rendering of The Torch.
