Thought I'd start this thread early, as the show has been absent for so long, as a reminder that tonight is the beginning of the end of first run ANGEL. Set your VCR, your TiVo, or watch it, but whatever you do...DON'T MISS IT!

Looking forward to both 'Angel' and 'Smallville' tonight! (Still hoping something can save 'Angel' at this point...)

Did ANYONE catch "Angel"? Any thoughts?
i think the long weeks of absence kinda took
me out of the storyline but things seem to be
"heating up".

While the overall tone of the episode was pretty dark, Illyria's line about the world of shrimp had me on the floor.

Mostly 'cause it would have gone completely unnoticed by new viewers. That's what inside jokes should be: only apparent if you get the joke.

The world of shrimp was an inside joke? Well, then I must list my own name among those who did not get it.

Otherwise, favorite moment for me was Angel's reaction to the "Angel's Avengers" line.

I was sort of surprised that Gunn's "family" wasn't Black. Playing out the same scenes that we had seen with Lindsay might have had more impact if the "actors" were different.

Couldn't quite tell if they were ignoring their own continuity, vis Lorne and alcohol.

Altogether I enjoyed myself, and toward the end of the episode found myself looking at the clock hoping there was more time left. That's what I consider a good sign.

(I even came within hailing distance of enjoying "Enterprise", last night. Who'da thunk it?)

The shrimp world refers back to a comment made by Anya when she was mentioning various "wish" worlds...

that is one ... nice suit.

Great stuff.
I'm still chuckling over how Angel calls a meeting and the only one to show up is Spike ... with a briefcase and a beer.

LOL.

I enjoyed Angel last night. Can't wait until I watch it on UPN next year.

I wondered about that, as well -- Obviously, there's nothing preventing Gunn from marrying a very blonde, very white woman (Fred was the latter, after all), but their kid certainly would look different.

What I thought was really creepy was how Lyndsay and Gunn were sent down for their Prometheus moment in the cellar. "I sort of need it now." Brrrr.
