And there goes my only real reason for visiting the DC boards. I quite enjoyed this book. I think I'm in the minority because I liked Whilce's art, and so the first couple of arcs are my faves, but I enjoyed Micah's writing throughout.

Probably not the cup of tea of most on this board, but I'm sorry to see it go.

Waiting for the trade snippet from that interview:

> My book will end at a place which feels a lot more organic than the ending to Wildcats, I think. Joe had a big 36-issue storyline to tell, whereas after doing the 9-part Citizen Soldier storyline, I had just committed to writing a series of one-and-two issue stories in order to allow more jumping-on points for the series. That was the big complaint that I heard during the Citizen Soldier run... "this books sounds fascinating, but because 4 issues have gone past, I'm going to wait for the trade." I wanted to get a bullhorn and shout "stop waiting for the trade or there won't be a trade."

> Sure enough.

Sad irony

I have a friend who always waits for the trades. I've argued about it with him in the past, but he refuses to see that he's part of the cause for this sort of thing. This was a title he bought only in trades.

Now he's just going to have to miss out, and damned if I'll loan him my monthlies! Gotta point to prove here!!!

Awwwwww Crap!

This is the first I'd heard about both Stormwatch and Wildcats being cancelled. I've been collecting both these series since they started and both were enjoyable. I'm especially going to miss Wildcats now that I've read the Newsarama article talking about all the cool stuff that was planned for the future of that series. I want to see the return of Ladytron damnit! Ah well, that's $10 a month I can use for something else I guess...

That spot on the web is where I first met Melissa and it will be missed along with the title. Micah is an outstanding writer, even if he is a bit too political. Whilce's art is what attracted me to the title as well and the rotating art teams really killed the book's momentum. The best writing in the world always goes overlooked due to mediocre art every time.

Amen to that

Yep, comics is a visual medium, and while we love our writers, it's the pencillers we're stuck on, and will mostly always be.

That's a bit of our history gone there Brian (wow, makes me feel old, sorta). Good thing we both found our way here!
