A lot of promising Dvds will be coming out each week-
1)Big Fish comes out April 27, 2004, I was susprised I liked this one as much as I did. Its only problems were that it dragged out a bit too long and there was some unneeded nudity in what could have been the perfect family film.
2)Peter Pan- May 4, 2004
I haven't seen this but intend to buy it on DVD when it comes out. Wanted to go see it at the movies but didn't have the time considering all the other great movies that were out.
3)The 300 Spartans (1962): The newest Frank Miller movie?
Comes out May 11, 2004. Haven't see this either but I assume this is the movie referenced in Millers 300 as part of his inspiration?
Anyone seen this? Does it do the story justice?
4)Lord of the Rings: Return of the King- May 25, 2004
I'm excited they released this one earlier than they did the others.
I hated the second LOTR but the Third more than made up for it.
This one was near perfect and I challenge any real J.R.R fan to not see this movie and think it tried to do the book justice.
Best Special effects in the Last major battle I have ever seen in a movie.
5)The Simpsons - The Complete Fourth Season (1992)
June 15, 2004- also released earlier than the year before- and I am happy to know it. This is a no brainer buy!

Those sound cool and I've noticed that on July 6th, we'll be seeing the first part of season one of Batman the Animated Series and the first season of SUPERFRIENDS...finally.
I wonder when the Batman TV show is coming out? I'd pay LOTS for the complete show...and with commentary by West.
Here's what I'll be picking up in the coming weeks:
May 4: Gilmore Girls Season 1
May 18: Smallville Season 2
May 25: Buffy Season 6
June 1: Coupling Series 3
Doctor Who: Two Doctors
Doctor Who: Curse of Fenric
Beyond that, I'm trying to prioritize among the other releases: Quantum Leap, Nip/Tuck, Dead Like Me (all 1st seasons) and Dawson's Creek S3.
"...and the first season of SUPERFRIENDS...
I wonder when the Batman TV show is coming out?"
----------------
The Super Friends dvd is actually the Challenge of the Superfriends episodes, not the first season of Super Friends. It says "The first season" on the box for some unknown reason. Challenge itself only had one season.
I believe I read that the BATMAN TV show has legal problems due to the show being owned by Fox and the character being owned by Warner.

I thoroughly enjoyed this movie. I don't recall any nudity, though.
DVDsoon.com has the Quantum Leap first season for $33.87 w/ free s&h. I found it by looking at www.dvdpricesearch.com. Not sure if it's widely known about but they compare prices and give you a list of the cheapest places online to buy dvds. I discovered it a few years ago while I was working at a video store.
I'm at work as I type this, and one of my recieving team just showed me that the Kids In The Hall 1st season comes out next tuesday - I held it in my hand! It's a big fat set, and I'm really excited!
Also on the future, from flipping through my new release books is:
June 22nd - Bad Santa - which will also be released in the new popular "extra dirty" version - in this case, it will be called "Badder Santa" - I usually hold my nose at this sort of frat-boy, Maxim type bs, but Bad Santa is dirty in a really dirty way that would make the average Frat boy's skin crawl, so I'm there for the "dirtier" version! Extra scenes and more.
July 20th - Da Ali G Show - VERY funny stuff - posing as an idiot rapper, British Comedian Sacha Cohen gets some hilarious interviews with Politicians and other sacred cows. Priceless stuff.
May 25th - Club Dread - not as funny as SuperTroopers, but frankly, anything by Broken Lizard is solid gold comedy in my checkbook - excited to see the extra features on the disc.
May 25th - BUBBA HO-TEP!!!! My love of this film is well known 'round these parts, but get it while you can - for a limited time, this DVD comes with "collectable packaging and behind-the-scenes scrapbook" - as well as standard features: "deleted scenes, 2 audio commentaries, 4 featurettes, and much more" - AHHH!!! I can't wait!!!
So, those are the things that have tickled my fancy on the horizon...
Came out this week and I just picked it up. Haven't seen it yet, but I know what I'm doing this weekend!!!!!
Warning Matt- sadly it isn't half as good as the first season.
Worth the sit and watch tho'-
I will pick mine up sometime during the week.

I watched it last night. Granted, it's not as laugh-out-loud funny as the first, but the characters are more well-rounded with this season. Everything bad that could happen to David Brent did happen and the cliffhanger ending, with most of the characters lives up in the air, was terrific. I'm only sad that it's probably going to take another year for the two 90 minute specials to be released here in the States.

1.LOTR:Return Of The King
2.Smallville:Season 2
3. Bubba HoTep
Coming this summer is Batman:The Animated Series Season 1.
Diamond just solicited it. Also out right now is
The final Countdown. A 1980 Sci-Fi movie disquised as a military movie. Of course all of this is a building drum roll for Sept. 21 when the Star Wars Trilogy comes out on DVD.
Picked up the Final Countdown two weeks ago. I love this movie. One of my favorite time travel flicks.
*******************************
Picked this one up just this past week. Never had seen it all the way thru, or widescreen. A bit creaky in places, and I wish they had a least tried to give us some tech-babble to explain the "storm", but otherwise really pretty neat.
Would have loved to see the Nimitz actually do some stuff, and return to a radically changed world!!
(Note the one major conceit of the movie: everything will be okay as long as things turn out for us the way they did. No one thought a whole lot about those two Japanese pilots who got shot down! What if one of them was supposed to gone on to be the president of Sony??)
The later Marx Brothers movies are being released on DVD for the first time in May, including A NIGHT AT THE OPERA and A DAY AT THE RACES. Whoopeee!
CHEERS: THE COMPLETE THIRD SEASON is being released in May too. I'm a CHEERS freak, and crossing my fingers that the DVDs keep coming through the final season.
