I tried to stay away from books he's written and drawn before (like FF and X-Men) and even though he's done some of those above books before, I don't think most of them were as writer AND artist. I'd especially like to see HIS Avengers (in case you hadn't picked up on that). Of course, most of those are M***** characters - yes, I'm a M***** girl - so they're unlikely.
Personally, I'd also like to see JB on Stormwatch or The Authority, but I don't think they're his cup of tea. Tho' his art would have rocked.

You are a god among insects. Never let anyone tell you different.
I, like Melissa, am more of a M***** fan than a DC fan so I would love to have JB back at the House of Ideas(at least it used to be). Then again, after finding my way back into the fold of JB's wonderful writing and beautiful art, I'd like to see his take on any character/s.
While I'm here...I have to say that I am very happy that JB is doing DP. I think this is the one project that JB is really going to shine on. IMO, DP has a little bit of everything that JB has done so well with in the past. DP has a family feel to the team, reminiscent of the FF, as well as an out of place in the world feel like the X-Men.
Hmmmmm....i think it's time to pull out my "intepretation" of what
character JB should take on in the near future.
i figure if i keep this fresh in his mind he won't forget...
Blue Beetle
Aquaman ( I would like to see where Byrne would take this new version)
JSA- with Johns.
Spectre- I want him to bring back Jim who gives up the afterlife to take back the reigns to save Hal from what ever stole his life, destroyed his home town and took over the Spectre trying to redeem itself because of Hal's goodness and influence.
Marvel
Gurdians of the Galaxy (my first choice when he returns to marvel)
SleepWalker
BlackWulf
Green Lantern Corps or Green Lantern
All Star Comics...JSA in the Golden Age
Avengers
Brave & The Bold..Batman & ????
DC Comics Presents..Superman & ????
JB did such a great job on these characters in Legends and Action that I'd love to see him handle them in a limited or on going series. He does great "horror stories."
DETECTIVE COMICS. Why DETECTIVE and not BATMAN you ask?
Two reasons. 1. BATMAN appears to be the title that has a
creative team come in,tell a story and get out. I want to see JB do a 24-36 month run on something again. I think the powers that be would give him more creative control over that title to work out a long term underlineing plot line. At the same time be able to tell stand alone stories
that are fun to read. This IMHO is what JB does best.
2. I've alway felt that BATMAN was more action-adventure
and DETECTIVE was more of Batman being an ACTUAL detective. This also is one of JB's stong points with the character. However I would love to see JB bring Hal back to the Green Lantern Corps. I just don't think "the powers that be" will ever allow that to happen.
Charles Valderrama: Nice cover interpretation there! I love the type treatment on "No Evil Shall Escape My Sight."
The rest of youse: I'm sure you all know by now that my dream is to have JB take over Prince Valiant after John Cullen Murphy either retires or passes away--but only if they return it to a full-page size.

I kinda have a hankering to see Mr. Byrne take on the good Doctor Strange. Seems like an area where there is a great deal of exploration that could be done story-wise and artistically. Don't know if it will ever happen but hope springs eternal.

Oooo, Mr. Byrne on the Invaders would have been so awesome. That sounds like another dream project for a Byrne fan because it has Namor, Human Torch and Captain America in one book. John' renderings of Baron Blood and Union Jack are amazing too! Painful to think that this project is in the works and JB' hands are not in the process.
I, for one would love to see John take on 'Rip Hunter, Time Master'. As a suggestion kind of a combo of Quantum Leap and the time-bending elements in his West Coast Avengers-Immortus story which was sadly cut short. Imagine Rip Hunter crimebusting in Ancient Rome. Having to repair a 'rip' in time where Julius Caesar doesn't get assassinated. Or Pearl Harbor doesn't get bombed. Or Adolph Hitler is a succesful artist and doesn't become dictator. Or... the list is endless. It'd be way cool in my opinion. But, that's just me.
But we all know it will be Shazam/Marvel!
I just hope it will be the Marvel connected witht he rest of the DC universe and not a stand alone or elseworlds type.
Superman - 40+ issues is not enough
Fantastic Four - 60+ issues definetly is not enough
X-Men - Claremont + Byrne was the best team ever. Ok, the Lee + Kirby was good too:-) and Neal Adams was not bad too
Avengers / Avengers West Coast
Hulk - 6 issues of the old series, a Marvel fanfare and 6 pages of the new series (not counting writtig)? not enough.
AND, OF COURSE, NEXT MEN. This series was some the best writting i ever seen. Never enough.

I don't remember you using horses many times (although an uncanny x-men issue and a Superman Annual come to mind). Do you have problems penciling horses? Do you have some other penciling weaknesses ?
Sorry about the question.
Invaders
Legion of Superheroes
JSA (after Johns has his fill)
Marvel Family
Black Panther (Based on the Jungle Action Series)
For his "off the wall" project, I would love to see him draw Richie Rich or Spooky. Could you imagine the robots that Richie Rich would have if JB did them??
