That poster is my own personal JB Holy Grail. I've wanted one ever since I first saw it years ago. My luck being as it is, everytime I see one up for auction on ebay, I never have the spare money to afford it. I WILL own it one day though.
I would also love to see (and probably never will unless I can commission it) a similar - though smaller - pic of the entire ALpha Flight cast, heroes and villains alike.
David Spurlock, it was my JB FF grail, too (exhaustively recounted in the "Fantastic Four Poster Scan" thread). I know how you feel.
Contact Mike of Voyager Promotions at the number below and see if he has any copies of the poster left. He's the guy Frank and I bought it from, and Ken Plume, too--though Ken got it off eBay, which is were I got the seller contact info. It should cost you $40-45 a copy plus shipping, if there are any left. Good luck.

p.s. I really like the other Dave's idea of an Alpha Flight "Family Portrait" poster! Sigh. Byrne's Alpha Flight screams for a nice trade paperback collection!

very cool! this is the first time I've seen it in colored! But I'm a bit bothered by the proportion of the character. The thing seems to be smaller than Namor, and Attuma seems to look like a giant. Hope it's just a perspective shot or something....

According to the 1985 Official Handbook of the Marvel Universe (this poster was published in 1984), the Thing IS smaller than Namor -- 6' to 6'2". Attuma IS a relative giant at 6'8". The handbook even has Reed Richards as being slightly taller than Ben Grimm, by an inch.
Different artists have different interpretations, of course, but a look at the Kirby and Byrne issues of the FF seem to back up the Handbook height data. The Thing is not Wolverine, but he is still pretty squat. Having no neck probably doesn't help!
You also mentioned the perspective. I think it would make sense for regal Namor to be arrogantly "upstaging" everyone just enough to assert his superiority!

That's one of the things that often bugs me!!! As an artist, getting the character's
proportions correct should "override" personal style. These days it seems
harder to tell who is who 'cause everyone is built the same way visually.
one of the things i first liked about Wolverine was that he wasn't tall like
all the other heroes. i also like Ben Grimm's normal height as apposed
to when he's drawn as a huge monster.
