So his scams were unrelated to comics?

I thought that name was familiar its the guy that use to run the www.anotheruniverse.com website (strangly blank at the moment). I remember them getting a lot of flak on usenet for messing up peoples orders, but that may be unconnected.

A quick google throws up this interesting site http://www.anotheruniversesucks.org/

I guess comics will always be considered what my grandmother referred to as "funny books".

the 1st line of the article

My fiancee (who avoids all comics) recently read part of an 'Our Army At War' over my shoulder. "That's not funny," she observed, sparking the same conversation we had when I was reading a comic and she asked me why I wasn't laughing.

Every time -- and I mean every time -- I am introduced to a civilian at a party or gathering of some kind, when the subject of my job comes up, the individual, male or female, always wants to tell me something "funny" that I can use in my comic books.

Any wonder that I have, for decades, been seeking a better but equally "user friendly" term for these pamphlets?

I tried to go French with it (Brochures Dessinées, à la Bandes Dessinées,) but actually liked the back translation better: Drawn Booklets.
