Damn You Matt Reed - ever since I was exposed to the Simpsons DVD's, I've been eyeing the copies here at my store... damn you, Reed, you're like a pusher!
I put it off by buying a couple of the South Park DVD sets - which are great, but slim on extras - considering that Parker and Stone's commentary track on Cannibal: The Musical is one of the greatest Commentary Tracks ever, you'd think they'd have more stuff - (Tho', I understand there was a problem with thier original track for the first set - and it was removed, as to not offend Jodie Foster or some bs - and that you could order it on a cd from Comedy Central, etc... but still..) And where's Orgasmo on DVD??? And why is the South Park Movie DVD so slim for extra stuff?
Bleh!
Speaking of good new DVD releases....
This one ALMOST slipped by me on the radar - and I think it was brought up here a few months back - the latest issue of Universal's Monster films - Frankenstein, Dracula, and the Wolfman - these DVD's are GREAT!! They came in, and I sniffed at them - they're like the James Bond films - out each year with new packaging, but if you have them already, so what.
But this set...! Each one has a COUPLE of films on each disc! The Frankenstein set has Frankenstein, Bride of..., Ghost of..., Son of..., and House of...!! Plus extra features!!
And I'm not a Dracula man at all - I think Vampires are pretty lame, but I've always had a soft spot for the Spanish version of Dracula, and by God, it's on the Dracula set, along with Dracula's Daughter, Son of..., and House of...! Plus extras! I'm buying it!!
Even if you have other versions, these are totally worth picking up! The SRP is $26.99, which means that many places will have them on sale for about $19.99, so... totally worth the money!
