The shield is charged with a hammer, representing work, and a handful of coins. The background is red ("Gules"), to show that we've been bled of these things. The shield also has a slash over it to show that we DON'T HAVE work or money. The shield is supported by things we do have, things which support us and keep us going: It's on a couch (green ("Vert"), for "Go Here" and/or relaxation), flanked by some Fudge Stripe Cookies and a can of Pringles. The banners above and below read "NULLUM ANNUA" ("No Work" (actually, "Annua" means a salary) and "NIHIL MONET" ("No Mon-ay") respectively.
I did a (very) little research on coats-of-arms, and discovered that the use of puns (called "Canting arms") is not unusual, so I was able to write a neat slogan. Plus, how many of us own a Monet?
In case you don't know, my Latin sucks. |
