Can anyone tell me why we need two associations. Why not just have one, with an Eastern Division and a Western Division ?? Keep all the same officers, each in charge of their own divisions.
I hate to say it, but I don't really have a very convincing answer. Under the skin, we're all carvers. Maybe we have some regional differences, but probably we're more alike than we realize. There's a little overlap between the two organizations as far as officers and board members are concerned, and will no doubt be more. There's a lot of interchange and mutual good feelings. It is possible that the CCSG will have some news that is of more immediate use to the Pacific Northwest carver, but both CCSG and UCCG are here for everyone. I think many people, including myself, enjoy belonging to both.
Another aspect of this is the role of the forums. At one time, the newsletter was the only game in town. Now, we have instant communication. In order to stay relevant, the newsletter can focus on different types of stories than it originally did. We will be considering this as we put together the new Cutting Edge. (You should have received the first one and soon will be getting the colorful new one in the mail, since you recently paid your dues.

they create balence and give insight's to differnt areas of the globe,and its not like we are media corporations that can merge at the drop of a hat, differnt newsletters give differnt perspectives,if both please you then belong to both,or not, but it is uselly a small group working behind the scecnes that are tieing it all together,so hats off to all concerned! and as always needed "CONTENT" please I beg of you write down your story,a story,any story, or if you are feeling creative take a picture and send to the cascade newsletter,heck send one to the united guild, just write it down and send it............
