Chetwynd supplies accommodations and meals during the Championship
We have no problems with saws coming across the border. We do have an issue that airlines will not fly them, they must be shipped by ground. We have been able to secure a local chainsaw sponsor for our competitor from Japan as he obviously cannot bring his equipment with him.
If a carver would like to be invited to the Championship they can send us an expression of interest with pictures of their work to the Chetwynd Chamber of Commerce PO Box 870 Chetwynd BC V0C 1J0 or send to our e-mail address.

I went up to Chetwynd a couple of years ago as a judge. It was a very good competition, well supported by the town, well organized. The carvers were treated hospitably and compensated enough to cover expenses. The wood was some of the best I've seen. I drove up instead of flying, and the trip was great fun. Fine scenery, (expensive gas!, interesting little sparse towns.
I met some really fine carvers and nice people.
Stopped in Hope, which is full of wonderful CS art, but was not able to catch up with carver Pete Ryan.
