I Know I dont belong to this Guild, but I tought about something that may help the carvers each other; I live in tourist area, and I get some customers who want to buy a carving, but they don't do it because the are flying, or they don't have room in their vehicles; if this Guild would post an invitation to the people to get on this Web Site and post their name, phone number, and the area where they live, I would be glad to print it out and give it to them, so they can find a carver near where they live. Milt's been doing that sine day one. there is a gallery of carvers around the world with clmbing towards 600 members. He has free galleries for carvers and other artists. Carvers can find carvers as well as the public finding carvers in their area to do whatever they want. Just click on a state and their they have the signed up members. I've gotten jobs from being on that site a few times and it gives me a way to show my work to potential clients also. The nice thing about it is that it is free. A lot of us have donated to Milt for his services and all the work he's has done for all carvers. Surprised you haven't been there.
Thank You Jim for letting me know that, from now on I will write Milt's Website adress on the back of my business card when the people need to find a carver near where they live. For now I'm getting ready for Mother's Day. Edgard.
