"Are you that guy...?"

Today I set up to sell carvings at the local downtown flea market and was asked the same questions several times.

"Are you that guy with the shop in West Richland?"
No. That's Paul Jones.

"Are you that roadside carver guy with the toilet paper bear?"
No. That's Steve Backus.

"Are you the guy who made the carvings in Packwood?"
No. That's Trace Breitenfeldt.

Time to start making a name for myself! wink.gif

Did ok.

I sold some small pieces and made contacts for potential stump jobs which is more than I expected. I attended with the expectation of just stirring up interest and handing out business cards so I'm happy.

Yeah, I know the feeling Butch.. There is a very limited amount of carvings here in my area , but there are a few.. One is this Ugly Yellow eagle and everyone asks me if I did it.. I say No way ! I want to go cut it down or fix it !! ( Look like a field goal more than an eagle )
But my stuff is getting out there and the name is spreading slowly..

I'd do shows but I am limitted to only a van and I do mostly large carvings..

Cheers, Tone

The last 2 shows I went to I had a bunch of people ask me if I work out of White Haven, no thats Michael Blaine.
If I work out of Wapwallopen, no thats Dennis Beach.

So I also know the feeling.

I do tell the people that are looking for something that I dont have or something special I do tell them to contact Dennis or Michael.
