Hi folks,
Our traditional annual meeting is usually in November in Puyallup at Noel's Restaurant. The 21st or 28th are Saturdays. Can we hear from all of you about which you might prefer. Thanks.
For my part, the time has come to say goodbye to the guild, so you'll need to nominate a President, Treasurer, Registered Agent, Director, and Forum Owner.
It might not hurt to poll the other officers and directors to see who intends to run again, or who might like to jump into the pot.
Once the nominations are complete, election notices can then be sent to all paid members and the voting completed by January.
Please make Agenda suggestions-(i.e. t-shirts, hats, membership cards, guidelines for events, the newsletter etc..) for any topic you'd like to see covered at the meeting. Those can be posted here.
Thanks Mike.. It was a privalage to meet all you West Coasters and people like you who have done an amazing amount of work to keep the Chainsaw bar raised.. You did an amazing job..
Maybe every one is as busy as I have been. I still finding time to write though, no matter what others think of me, I work day and nite, making a decent living carving, paying my taxes, and occassionally visiting the forums. January is a great time to have meetings. No one has cash to spend, nor to go any where, so it would be interesting to see the pick up of attendance here, and on other forums...
Let's go with Amy's suggestion for noon on Dec 5th at Noel's.
Noel's Restaurant
715 Meridian Ave E.
Edgewood , WA
work: 253-568-0405
Agenda to include nominations for President & Vice President. Voting to be held in January.
Just a reminder- Secretary & Treasurer are appointed positions. Interested persons should put forth their names for consideration and express a willingness to do the work. Literacy is a compelling asset. A reading of the by-laws will clarify responsibility.
I hope to see you all there.
Have a good holiday season.

If there is a meeting this month I for one would like to implement a plan to contact all board members not only on line but by phone, I feel its imperative that we talk among each other at least by land line, cell phone, or in person. I am sure I am not the only one that doesnt get on line sometimes for days.
1. Election of officers and description of jobs...
2. Bylaws, what do we need to update
3. CCSG Forum ownership and moderators...
These three Items alone will take a while.
4. Bumper stickers??
Let me know if there is anything I missed,,,dont forget,,I am new at this job and have never been secretary of any thing in my life, so this dont come natural...Have patience,,Jerry
If we have time we should discuss these or do an online meeting:
--t-shirts (would like to suggest that we pay royalties to the artist that designs the t-shirt) At last years meeting Thor came up with a designed we all really liked, is that still available? We should also discuss what needs to be done so the guild actually gets the t-shirts created.
Good eye Amy, but the wife is telling me that it is .com instead of .net mabey that will work. I am wondering what time the meeting starts?? I only live about twenty minutes from Noel's I'd really hate to miss this one.
It won't be possible for me to be at the Saturday meeting. I'm sorry about that, but there's nothing I can do about it. The alternative is to turn this into an on-line meeting. Or you could go ahead with it and the vice-president can run it. Or we could do both. Any suggestions?
For the agenda, be sure to add approval of the minutes of the last meeting once they are properly written. Like it or not, the State of Washington requires that accurate minutes
are kept by non-profit corporations. Failure to do so removes the corporate "blanket of individual protection from legal responsibility" from officers. It's best to keep them current, approved and recorded. For more on this see the online corporate law section of the State of Washington.
Also for the agenda, we still need a job description for the newsletter editor. This is an appointed position and does not carry membership rights or a vote in the administration. It has been farmed out to printers and independent editors before. It may need to be again. That the current editor is also on the board of directors is coincidental and could become an ethical question should a conflict of interest arise. Legally a liability action against the editor could bleed back through the organization and leave the officers vulnerable to judgments.
Remember this is not an election meeting. Nominations may be made, but no votes are counted. We need to contact all the membership to make them aware. I like Jerry's idea of phoning everyone. Voting is in January or February.
It would be well for all candidates to read the job descriptions in the by-laws. An understanding of the responsibilities would go a long way toward doing the job.
If you go to the meeting, good luck with the roads, and be careful.

would be to close the old account, collect a cashiers check and open an entirely new account in a new bank. There are too many headaches with signature cards etc. to keep the old one. BOA was sending statements to KC for three years after she was replaced.
There will be no need of the branch in Fife. The new treasurer will be appointed by the new officers following the elections in January.
This post should be on the open forum. Our members need to be informed.
I see whats happening on the yellow forum and think it would be beneficial to discuss, either on this forum with members, or at personal meeting, or online meeting, the monitoring of this website. Website security.
Go to Ridgway and be humbled by the best. I think we need more than just one Rendevous. Maybe one of us roving carvers should try to entertain a few cities, towns, or townships, with the idea of a new venue. Different climates, different wood.
What I'm getting at is more knowledge for those that haven't got a clue. There are still spots in the U.S. that have never seen a carver at work and what it takes to do what we do and why we are so passionate about it.
