Help me find a bandsaw mill?

I want to upgrade from my Alaskan mill to a portable bandsaw mill but don't quite have the cash to get what I want new. If any of you in the great Northwest knows of a good deal, I'd appreciate hearing about it.

What I think I need is something comparable to the Woodmizer LT15 or Timberking 1220 with the capability of cutting a 24" wide slab. Trailer package or engine upgrade would be great.

I'm in Eastern Washington...

Butch,
check out used sawmills. I think the Google ads along the top of the page will take you there. With the usual caveats-- parts availability, warranty, shipping costs, etc, there are more than you can imagine.

Bought one

I searched until Google complained and I concluded that a new mill was the way for me to go. I finally bought a new Woodmizer LT15 plus a few little goodies to go with it. I'll pick it up on Friday morning happy.gif

Great Choice

What a sweet machine. Also... out of all the companies that offer this type of machinery Wood Miser is the one always sending their people to help and demonstrate at our events. Which means we always have some nice slabs to make benches.
Congratulations on your new equipment. (I'm jealous...LOL)
Best to the family,
Jerry

I did look at sawmill-exchange. Nothing on there for me. That site is kind of odd in that one has to phone them before getting in touch with the seller. I didn't care for that...

Picking up my Woodmizer on Friday so Saturday will be spent getting it setup. Exciting times happy.gif

Action pics :)

I finally dulled my first blade happy.gif
Today, I decided to mill 2" thick slabs to be used for seats and backs on my carved benches. The log I had was too large for the mill so I use the chainsaw mill to remove a really big slab from 2 adjacent sides. I ended up with a 29" x 22" x 5' cant which I milled as well as milling the slabs I chainsawed off.

Naomi asked, "Why's it called a cant." I said, "Because you can't roll it." I had to rotate this one with the tractor...

The Woodmizer gave me 14 x 2" slabs, 2 x 1.5" slabs and 1 x 1" slab; all 22" x 5'.
