Not only have I been extremely infertile (was given less than 1 percent chance of success with IVF/ICSI due to my and my DH's problems, but I also have two brain tumors, and I am so used to getting bad news that I never cry to doctors.

They tend to peg you as a nutcase if you are not calm, I am sorry to say. Staying calm will win you points. I was only 36 and childless when I was dxed with extremely high FSH. My RE, who was a saint, called me and my DH in and gave us the usual donor egg speech. I was armed w/research from this bb and asked him to please reconsider. We were getting up to leave, and he said, wait, I'll help you. He said he was impressed with my motivation and commitment. I went through two painful surgeries, 6 IUIs (insurance mandated) and a full scale IVF. I now have a healthy six year old child.

Be strong. DO NOT LET THEM SEE YOU CRY.

I would hold it in and cry in my car (I'd take a 7:30 appt. each day for the year I went in so often, then would have to go to work and go directly to court, I worked for the court system. I'd cry in my car on my way in, then dry my tears, touch up my makeup and go in.) I'd keep my tears for this bb.

      Good luck!

      Hugs, Maria
