I have a 5 month old daughter who was conceived naturally after being diagnosed with high FSH and DOR. I'm already thinking about TTC'ing for the next child because I'm 34 but I've been told my eggs are much older. I'm still breastfeeding so my question is whether I need to stop in order to get pregnant again. I keep getting conflicting information. I've heard that breastfeeding is a natural contraceptive but then I've also heard that it is not 100% effective as a contraceptive because you still ovulate. I'm really conflicted over whether to stop breastfeeding or not. I know that breastmilk is best for my daughter but I also don't want to waste any precious time (and eggs) to TTC. Then again, if I can't have any more children, I want to enjoy the breastfeeding experience with my daughter for as long as possible. Of course, time is ticking. Even if I decide to stop, it will take a while to wean and for my cycles to return to normal. Any ideas, thoughts, advice??? |
