I am still pretty young, and curious. I was just wondering if anyone knows if pubic hair is unatractive to a man in anyway. I have tried shaving, but I always get an itchy rash and the area gets red.

This would be a better question asked in the Main Forums rather than the advice column.

Most men love to see a woman's pubic hair
If your pubic hair extends to your thighs use a good quality hair remover.

It's really a matter of preference for you. You should decide what you are comfortable with, and do not worry so much about what guys like.

You'll find that most men like variety. If you are concerned about how a particular guy thinks, it's okay to ask him. Sometimes we like a woman's pubic hair to be long, sometimes short, and sometimes shaved. Sometimes a stripe (or strip, however you would like to characterize it) is nice, or even a shape like a heart or a V. Most of the time just being "well-trimmed" is good. You will probably appreciate that in your guy too.

The point is, every guy has a different preference, even if it is no preference. When you enter into a mature relationship, the two of you can have fun with different variations of your pubic hair.

Until then, do whatever you are comfortable with.

As for red bumps that are associated with shaving, there are a few things you can do to minimize them or to prevent them altogether:
Use a good shaving cream or soap with moisturizer in it when shaving. Avoid antibacterial soaps or soaps with heavy perfumes or dyes.

Shave with the grain of the hair rather than against it. Generally that means shaving "down" rather than "up", and "in" rather than "out."

Rub lotion or oil into your bikini area after you have shaved to moisturize the ski and to keep it soft.
Most importantly, use a good, sharp razor. You don't need a new one every time, but after about three uses they become dull and can pull the hair and cut the skin.

NEVER use alcohol or aftershave down there! Do it once and you'll understand why I emphasized "NEVER!"

I hope this helped!
