Vaginal Odor and BV

My main issue with vaginal odor is that I'm going through recurring bacterial vaginosis (BV), so there's a bit of a musty odor that all the bathing and showering in the world cannot get rid of. I've been treated for it repeatedly, but it insists on coming back and so does the odor. Two doctors treated me for this and could not find a solution. I would use unscented soap, or just plain water, even summer's eve feminine wash(not all at once) but nothing's getting rid of the problem.

I can get through the day if I'm not moving, but as time passes I can slowly smell the odor. It's not like I'm running around or even breaking a sweat, but it just occurs either way. It's not the worst smell in the world, but I would still be embarassed to come too close to people, especially my boyfriend, since he's also my co-worker. It makes me paranoid that other people can smell me, even when I know it's not that bad. I'm on the verge of trying a douche--even though it can't cure the problem, I'd like to see how long it can get me through the day. I can deal my natural scent, but the musty odor is aggravating. Even more aggravating is that I want to be intimate with my boyfriend, but this is definitely what's holding me back. Please help!
I would like any advice on how to atleast get through 8 hours of moderate movement and still have minimal to no odor. If anyone has a cure for BV, feel free to throw that in too:) Thanks

Lynn,

There is no cure for BV other than oral antibiotics, which I'm sure you've been prescribed before. You should consider having your boyfriend treated as well and abstain from having unprotected sex until you've both completed your antibiotics. It is very likely that he is passing it right back to you. Also, a normal healthy vagina should not have an unpleasant odor. If you've never noticed the smell before you were first diagnosed with BV then the BV is likely the cause of the odor. However, like I said if your boyfriend wasn't treated as well, then he's likely passing it back to you. I hope this helps.
