Just finished "Cloudstreet". Wow, what a book! I have not figured out why, but it kept reminding me of the movie "O Brother Where Art Thou?" Maybe the way mysterious elements appear and disappear and they are not treated as anything out of the ordinary? Anyone up for a discussion? I'm going to move on to "The Riders", which I started, but didn't move along in. What other books of his have you all read?

I actually enjoyed "Cloudstreet" more than "Dirt Music", which was a good book.
I really miss the Lambs and the Pickles!
Good, good book!!!

Cheers,
Jackie

I don't know at all about "Dirt Music". This was full of irony, the strange twists that life takes, but ultimatley I think very uplifting. The characters are wonderful. Don't know if that helps. Central theme would be the strength of family.
