...what MB song (or, I suppose, songs) would you pick as your favorite(s)? I know it's hard to do, but try your best A few of my favorites are "Steppin' in a Slide Zone", "The Actor", "The Voice", "New Horizons", and "Candle of Life". Keep in mind, those are only a few! What about you?
I think "You Can Never Go Home" from EGBDF would have to be in there, as must "Nights In White Satin" be. And what about "One Lonely Room" from Songwriter (JH) and "This Morning", "Nights, Winters, Years" and "I Dreamed Last Night" all from Blue Jays?
All good choices. As is "Forever Autumn". That's a great tune, even if it ISN'T a Moodies track. But Justin does it, in my opinion, perfectly. It SHOULD be a Moodies track. Oh well. The world isn't fair.
You're right, it sounds like it should be! Maybe that's what they should have done, was to get someone else to write and produce more of their songs for them. Maybe they tried to do too much on their own. But I think it's great that they did theoir own thing at a time when a number of groups were having hit records with tunes they'd sung but had to have studio musicians play for them, 'cause they hadn't yet learned the tune. Does anybody remember the brouhaha which followed when a band called Love Affair admitted they couldn't actually play more than two of their hit numbers?
