READER’S VIEW: Misleading headline on Gibson, Israel column

As a longtime reader of The Patriot Ledger, I was really disappointed and shocked to see the headline ‘‘Gibson not the only one fed up with Israel.’’

I’m not fed up with Israel. Nor are the vast majority of my co-readers.

Hezbollah is launching 150 to 200 rockets daily, intentionally aimed at Israeli citizens and cities.

Hezbollah entered Israel to kidnap two soldiers.

Israel drops leaflets and makes broadcast announcements begging Lebanese citizens to leave the border area from which they hide rocket launchers in home and mosques.

The paper’s warped headline completely twisted Richard Cohen’s argument.

The headline wrongly led readers to think that the author was blasting Israel, whereas quite the opposite was true.
