East Dorset members have already been informed by their Safer Neighbourhood team that 3 farm outbuildings were broken into in Gussage St Michael and Horton. At the Gussage St Michael breaks the offenders entered via the fields at the rear. The locks were smashed off. The hedge was damaged at Gussage as they drove through it. There may be other offences as yet undiscovered.

An unfortunate event in North Dorset (Gillingham) near Mere in the early hours of this morning. A light was seen on in one of the insecure outbuildings and the householder went to investigate and on doing so disturbed 2 possibly 3 males who had entered the outbuilding. One was by the workshop the other by the diesel tank. The offenders assaulted the householder as they made good their escape which is believed to be in a old white Transit van. The helecopter was dispatched and some of you may have heard it as it searched for vehicles in connection with this offence.

From Somerset Between 10pm on 2nd November and 8am on 3rd November a horse box was stolen from a farmyard in Combe, Huish Episcopi near Langport in Somerset.

Unknown offenders removed 2 gates from their hinges to remove the box.
The box is a green and silver Lampert Stock trailer and has no registration plates.

A quad bike was stolen from a driveway in Dorchester Road Weymouth 30/31 Oct.

Lamping in Brockington Wimborne last night by males in a small vehicle, not a 4 x 4.

The 4 x 4 thefts are on going. One stolen from Salisbury Wilts last night although this one was an Isuzu Trooper "R" reg with another Landrover stolen from a farm in Salterton Exeter "M" reg. Described as a dirty farm vehicle and off road.

There has been 8 Landrovers stolen in Dorset since 25th Sep 09. Wilts have also had 8 stolen. Cross border meetings are being held about this series. As you know 3 have been arrested recently and enquiries are ongoing.

Winterborne Monkton Dorchester o/n Mon -Tues. Garage break off road motorbike and riding equipment stolen.

Not a lot more I can add at the moment.

Many thanks

Anita Rigler
