Does anybody else find it funny that CNBC immediately follows any bad economic news with some analyst who is extremely bullish on the economy or a poll that shows half of the people responding think that the second half of the year is going to be even better than the first half? Ya think their ratings are kind of dependant on the market going up?

I've always found CNBC to be absolutely hilarious. I was listening to the Financial Sense Newshour broadcast this weekend. And four of the most respected and experienced technical analysts in the business were on there, but they all happen to be very bearish.

They were saying that as soon as they turned bearish, CNBC stopped calling to have them on the air. But you’ll still see some of the same perma-bulls who are still bullish from 1999 on the air bragging about how “right” they were during the first quarter. Amazing.

By the way, lest someone thinks that I’m condemning everything on financial TV shows , I have seen some stuff that is actually very useful. Jim Rogers comes to mind. He’s on “Cavuto on Business” on Saturday morning – Fox, not CNBC. Rogers doesn’t need anyone else’s money nor does he need the publicity. So they let him say whatever he truly thinks. I always try to catch that show because of him.
