i'm trying to find the list of stocks that make up the S&P REIT index. actually, i'd like to find a site that can tell me the list of stock in ANY index.
Just click on the index and it gives you the components.

thanks for the link.
i'm looking into a "dogs of the dow" type strategy - but instead of using DJIA stocks i would choose the top 10 yielding REIT stocks.
have you ever heard of this being done?
thanx.

I assume you're thinking that all the REITs in the index would be of high quality and, therefore, the highest yielding ones would represent good value. I've never heard of it, but I think it's an interesting idea.
I just don't know how you would backtest it. You can obviously tell which ones are the highest yielding ones now, but I don't know how you would know which ones were the highest yielding ones in the past to see if the strategy would have given you an edge.
