last trade streamer: size?

I've been browsing the web looking for an answer to this question but I can't seem to find it. Can anyone fill me in?

My broker's web site has a streamer where you can watch many stocks. You can also have one stock viewed at the top with many detailed fields. One of the fields is size. Values in this field are like 1x1, 1x12, 5x5, etc. What do the numbers refer to?

Dave,

My guess is that they're talking about the bid and asked and the size that is bid and the size that if offered.

For example, 5x5 might the bid price of 500 shares vs. the asked price of 500 shares.
