One of the great things about this forum is the introduction of new ideas, strategies, and tools I would probably would have never heard of anywhere else. (At least without doing a lot of looking around.)
I believe that the trading platforms I use to trade work pretty well. However, I am curious as to what other people are using. Maybe you are using something a bit better (better commissions, research, etc.) I'd be interested in knowing what other people are using and why.
I'll start by listing what I use:
- Interactive Brokers
Use for trading options. $1 a contract. I like the price.
- optionsXpress
Use for trading Rydex funds while following the COT. $14.95 to sell and $14.95 to buy. One of the best prices I found. I also like the free streaming quotes. (I originally traded options here but have switched to IB because of the price.)
if you're following the COT using Profund funds you can't beat Profunds. broker fees $0 - no short-term-redemption fees.
i was with interactive brokers for about a month - i couldn't stand their "customer support" - very rude and constantly annoyed.
i'm also in the process of moving $$$ over to brown co. $5 market orders - also tough to beat and simple site platform and other mutual funds available (just in case).

I've liked Schwab and Street Smart Pro. However, I think as I've grown over the last year I've found limitations I didn't notice before. I'm also opening a test account with Brown with an eye toward moving my RSI9 trades to that account.

Ditto on Brown - great excecution, great commissions, good service, light on frills. But I don't care about frills.
